Fleeting Ambience

Photography by Ibrahim Khider.

Ambient Double Exposure.

While digital imaging, shooting with phones is ubiquitous, DSLR cameras come in second. Right away users upload to social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and the like. A never ending buffet of images where there is so much to consume that you eventually stop tasting anything. Pretty much anything is possible on digital, or is it? Not really. Can you get happy accidents on digital the way you can on film? Only after the fact. Shooting on film brings possibilities you cannot conjure on digital, things you have not planned in advance. This is where you can get a special kind of photography if you are lucky. This image above turned out pretty darn good. Shot on a Minolta Hi-Matic F with Kentmere 400 portrait film. Happy accidents like this is another reason why I shoot film.
